The WCA Data Voices Challenge 2025
The WCA Data Voices Challenge 2025 is a regional video contest calling upon individuals to lend their voices to the importance of statistics and data-driven development in West and Central Africa. .
It aligns with the “Single Voice” theme by asking participants to articulate, in a compelling one-minute speech, how collaboration, trust, and innovation in statistical systems impact their communities and the region. The focus is on translating the high-level theme into relatable, personal, or local narratives.
The campaign will culminate on World Statistics Day (October 20, 2025), with the top entries amplifying the message across key communications channels and at your high-level advocacy event in Senegal.

The WCA DATA VOICES CHALLENGE 2025
Submission Guidelines
Video Length
Strictly a maximum of 60 seconds (one minute).
Content Focus
The speech must address the regional theme, focusing on at least one of the key sub-themes: Collaboration, Trust, or Innovation in statistics/data.
Call to Action
Videos should conclude with a brief, clear call to action related to data use or support for statistical systems.
Video Quality
High-definition (HD) quality is preferred (minimum resolution 720p). Videos should be filmed in vertical (portrait) format for optimal social media sharing.
Branding
The video must clearly state the participant's name and country at the start or end (can be a title card).
Originality
Submissions must be entirely original work.
Submission Method
To be determined (e.g., dedicated website upload form, or shared via a Google Drive/Dropbox link).
Submission Deadline
Videos should be submitted before the October 20 at 11:59 pm
Judging Criteria
How clearly and accurately the speech addresses the contest theme and sub-themes. |
The video’s ability to engage the audience and convey the value of statistics effectively and persuasively. |
The uniqueness of the perspective, presentation style, and narrative. |
Sound clarity, lighting, and overall video quality (within the constraints of smartphone filming). |
