A Collective Commitment for Cleaner Air- Kaikai

Recap of the Launch Workshop for the Air Pollution Sensor Deployment Project in Senegalese Schools

Kaikai is a team of digital development advisors providing strategic and technical consulting services to the private sector, donors, implementing partners, and NGOs.

Founded in 2020 in Dakar, our team operates across a range of relevant fields and sectors. We sharpen our expertise with every project and client we support, constantly evolving to deliver impactful and adaptive solutions.

On March 11, 2025, a key workshop was held in Dakar to kick off a visionary project: deploying air pollution sensors in schools across Senegal.
Organized by Kaikai, in collaboration with various institutional and academic partners, the event brought together experts, government representatives, researchers, and teachers around a vital issue — improving air quality monitoring and raising awareness among younger generations about the dangers of air pollution.

Technical support for the HISWACA / UNFPA WCARO project

The objective was to support the implementation of the program’s visual identity and to design its communication tools upstream of its official launch.

As part of the regional HISWACA project (Harmonizing and Improving Statistics in West and Central Africa), our team was commissioned by UNFPA WCARO, in partnership with the World Bank, ECOWAS, CEMAC, and other regional institutions.
Our mission was to support the creation of the program’s visual identity and to design its communication tools prior to its official launch.
Based on the terms of reference, we developed a clear technical proposal, including:

  • A solid understanding of the mandate,

  • A creative approach in line with international standards,

  • A precise list of deliverables to be produced.

Our work was based on benchmarks in institutional branding, particularly those from projects funded by the World Bank.

Deliverables Produced
Despite a tight schedule and last-minute adjustments, the team demonstrated responsiveness, endurance, and professionalism. The deliverables produced include:

  1. Institutional logo and usage guidelines

  • A professional logo was designed, accompanied by a graphic charter detailing its usage (colors, sizes, restrictions).

  1. Visual adaptations for event tools

  • Backdrop for the event

  • Customized badges for participants, aligned with the project’s standards.

  • Roll-ups were designed to ensure impactful visibility of the HISWACA project during the event.

  • Rectangular and circular signage was designed to reinforce the visibility of the HISWACA project during the event.

  • An interactive photowall was designed to showcase photos and interviews of HISWACA project stakeholders during the event.

  • A range of promotional items, including stickers, notebooks, pens, and bags, was designed to strengthen the visual identity of the HISWACA project and support its outreach during and beyond the event.

  • Quote cards were designed to highlight testimonials and key messages from HISWACA project stakeholders, intended for social media dissemination during the event.

Our team remained mobilized throughout the event, ensuring the creation and adaptation of materials in real time to meet specific and unforeseen needs.

Results and Conclusion
This collective effort made it possible to deliver a set of materials that met the standards required by the project’s partners. It demonstrates our ability to produce high-quality visuals in a multi-stakeholder context, with high responsibility, and under intense time pressure. Despite the constraints encountered, the team adapted to meet the expectations of UNFPA and its partners.
